ABOUT US

We took over Millgate Cotage in 2001, and have been expanding ever since. Our main business is accommodation, but also have a pub and restaurant, and a shop.

Millgate Cottage has seven accommodation units, ranging in  size from one room up to five rooms. The aim  is for comfort offered in the most attractive way possible.  Most units have fully equipped kitchens. The units are scattered around the lovely property where guests are welcome to explore.

As well as conventional drinks, our pub stock several craft beer brands, including our own home brews.   Our restaurant is known for its selaction of German food, but again, conventional meals are on offer.

Our shop concentatres on crafts, many of which are produced inhouse, and its range of Mole Hill shirts. As owners, Jean and Ben Temkin, are better known are writers and artists, the shop is filled with eye-catching items, with the emphasis on crafts, quilting, kilnproduced glassware, and hand-made wooden toys.

PRODUCTS

Much of what is sold at Milgate, is produced here.  Craft beers are the speciality of Chris, himself a discerning beer drinker. He is keen to hear of any suggestions  you may have.

You can bathe in or drink natural  spring water which comes from Milgate's underground stream, sourced high in the Drakenburg.

The Glass Studio has fun producing unusual kiln-formed glasswear of its own as well as stocking stained glass products fashioned  by Stephan.

Mole Hill shirts are long-known for their long-lasting wearability.

We stock wooden toys made by a grandfather, and odds and ends of collectables.

Our art gallery mostly fetures the work of Ben and Jean Temkin as well as displaying bone china sent from England which Peta selects from the most valuable collectables.
